HARLEM
HARLEM
Amy Sacka explored the streets of Harlem for seven days, repeatedly revisiting the same spots, streets, parks and stores. Several years later, she returned to Harlem, hoping to photograph it again, but realizing her relationship to the area was different. Since this experience, her street work has explored the sensitivities involved in how one approaches and photographs a place, and how street photographers must reckon with the boundaries of transparency and presence while working in diverse communities.
